Vinyl day  – Salisbury 15th December 2016

I had planned to call into Signs in Motion on Tuesday but the weather was not too kind. So today (Thursday), was the next available likely looking one, according to BBC Weather for Salisbury!

As it proved correct I drove up to the farm to collect Zygie with The Boys.  Of course they had to have a quick morning runaround and Brandy actually got stuck into digging (of a sort) for the first time that I have ever seen.  Well actually he stuffed his nose into a hole and sniffed, snorted and growled a lot.  Whisky was totally unimpressed and plodded on along the track alone. Us Boys and NO fireworks!

T, “The Boss”, was home early so Brandy and I guessed something was afoot (or apaw).  Usually this means he is off to the pub with his mate (Al) next door but not this time!  We had seen K pack some getaway bags in the morning but they had not moved from the bedroom floor  Well what was all that about.  T was like a whirlwind.  I watched him put some clothes into the same bag and take it down stairs.  He packed his “Man Bag” with his laptop and iPad and other bits and bobs.  He went off outside with all this then came back sat down and had a coffee, were we going somewhere or not?  B is more laid back at these moments and was just flaked out on the sofa, not bothered.

We hate Fire Works!

Yesterday afternoon we went for a walk and run around the woods in Wilton about 5 miles away.  T had finished early from the garage and off we went in Vicky.  He often talks to us on these walks and it was then we heard that we were all going off in  Zygie  this weekend to get away from the bangs!  Whisky and I don’t like fireworks and there are a lot going off at this time of the year.   Continue reading →

Half Term Break,  23rd – 27th October 2016

We arrived at the Somerset Arms, Semington just before 6pm.  This is another Brit Stop that we intended using for the Sunday night on our way up to Hereford. This pub is not very far from where we live and after this visit we will use it again.

Watery NEC Motorhome Show

NEC  weekend  – 15th – 16th November 2016

While The Boys had a holiday weekend with our neighbours we went off in Zygie to the Motorhome show at the NEC Birmingham.

During the Friday I had taken The Boys for a long walk up by the farm and had also loaded up Zygie. Picking up Kaz from work we drove up to the Hare and Hounds on the Fosse Way which we were using as a Brit Stop.

Warranty work – October 2016

When we purchased Zygie from Somerset Motorhome Centre we discussed body work and other bits that needed to be undertaken before the final handover four weeks hence.

It was therefore very disappointing to find that when we came to pick up Zygie, only two days before our departure to France, that this was work was not fully completed.  We could not delay our holiday so we decided that we would book him in for this to be done after we returned from France.

Saturday 6th August – Sunday 14th August

I did not manage to complete a daily journal for the last week as I seemed to be too chilled and was enjoying relaxing.  So a lot happened in those last few days which I will now recant.

Saturday 6th August – Pontorson

We had lovely quiet afternoon and evening yesterday that we decided to stay another night.  However we seem to have got ourselves dough nutted by a noisy Belgium family (with dog) on our right and a French one opposite.  However The Boys proved themselves worthy and really were quiet. Thursday 4th August to Saturday 6th August – Saint Piere en Retz to Pontorson, Basse-Normandie, Manche (50)

We left the farm buying some fresh eggs on the way from our host Annie.  Yet another lovely drive but with spits of rain on the windscreen future weather did not seem great and this dampered our mood rather.  We passed through pretty towns and villages, across bridges smothered in flowers and boats passing along the rivers.
