What’s in a name and transfers
Every vehicle that Kaz and I have owned have had names. Some of the these have been based on the vehicles colour, shape or make and model. So our new MoHo was christened Zygie based on his registration plate.

Our very good friends from Saltash, Cornwall, B and S, came to stay with us over the weekend. Intending to go for a walk about on Saturday afternoon we (at their wish,) combined it with showing off them Zygie. We also went on a short circular drive from the farm.
This was only the second time that K had seen Zygie and her grinning smile was joy to behold.
Off to France on Monday 25th so will be posting more updates and photos on our way.

Well collection day dawned and we (myself and neighbour Al) left Salisbury to travel for the last time in Roxie to Somerset Motorhome Centre (SMC), Thornfalcon, Taunton.
We drove straight to SMC to meet up with Jon their sales guy. After a quick chat we drove down to Ashe Farm, a nearby campsite where the physical transfer was to take place.
We drove onto the site and parked up next to our new van. This was only the second occasion that I had seen it. Wow. I left Al there to look after The Boys while I returned to SMC to complete the paper work and for me to sort out a change in van insurance with Safe Guard. Continue reading

We had had a lovely sunny week staying at a holiday cottage in North Somerset with our neighbours from Salisbury and were on our way home. I mentioned to K that we still needed a water hose for Roxie and thought that we might look into Somerset Motor Home Centre. This is just outside Taunton and on our route home anyway.

This was our first trip in 2016 after a layoff of a few months . I had put Roxie on SORN over the winter season as it did seem we were not going to get away at Christmas. I also managed to get a couple of jobs done on her but not as much as I would have liked. This trip has shown up a tap leak, window leak and a possibly a bulging door. Continue reading

This was just another short week end trip to see our daughter, Alex, living in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire. We stayed at the CL that we have used before which is only a short drive into the town of Droitwich.

Picked up Roxy at the farm and drove down to Waitrose in Salisbury to get fuel and LPG for the first time. An experience without any drama but I did ask for advice from the service crew as I really did not want things to go wrong. Not sure why I bothered really as it is very straight forward.

We have never had a TV fitted in a van before let alone a satellite system on the roof. Neither are we great watches of a tv when we are away preferring to listen to the radio. However Roxie had both so we were both rather intrigued with it all. On our first visit and on pickup day the tv appeared to be working fine. However being both very excited at our new purchase neither Kaz nor I took a great deal of interest in the quality or the workings of a tv, a tv is a tv isn’t it? Continue reading
