Eventually an update !

This year so far has not seen us use Zygie much.  Problems with the repair garage, which incidentally have not been fully resolved, and some major family health issues ,which are still ongoing and will be for some time, has seen him mostly square wheeled inside at the farm. Even The Boys have not gone unscathed with Whiskey having a costly operation on his leg (thank goodness for Pet Plan) which meant numerous visits to the specialist vets, Southern Counties Vets in Ringwood. Warranty work – October 2016

When we purchased Zygie from Somerset Motorhome Centre we discussed body work and other bits that needed to be undertaken before the final handover four weeks hence.

It was therefore very disappointing to find that when we came to pick up Zygie, only two days before our departure to France, that this was work was not fully completed.  We could not delay our holiday so we decided that we would book him in for this to be done after we returned from France.

Well collection day dawned and we (myself and neighbour Al) left Salisbury to travel for the last time in Roxie to Somerset Motorhome Centre (SMC), Thornfalcon, Taunton.

We drove straight to SMC to meet up with Jon their sales guy.  After a quick chat we drove down to Ashe Farm, a nearby campsite where the physical transfer was to take place.

We drove onto the site and parked up next to our new van.  This was only the second occasion that I had seen it. Wow. I left Al there to look after The Boys while I returned to SMC to complete the paper work and for me to sort out a change in van insurance with Safe Guard.   Continue reading →

The Cornish Trip Sunday 25th Oct – Friday 30th Oct

Picked up Roxy at the farm and drove down to Waitrose in Salisbury to get fuel and LPG for the first time.  An experience without any drama but I did ask for advice from the service crew as I really did not want things to go wrong. Not sure why I bothered really as it is very straight forward.

We have never had a TV fitted in a van before let alone a satellite system on the roof.  Neither are we great watches of a tv when we are away preferring to listen to the radio.  However Roxie had both so we were both rather intrigued with it all.  On our first visit and on pickup day the tv appeared to be working fine. However being both very excited at our new purchase neither Kaz nor I took a great deal of interest in the quality or the workings of a tv, a tv is a tv isn’t it? Continue reading →
